This intermediate to advanced level studio painting course focuses on the development of personal content and self expression. Through slide lectures, and individual and group critiques, concepts such as risk taking, painting versus picture making, predictability, tension, and discovery are explored.

This intermediate to advanced level course explores both perceptual and conceptual approaches to painting the figure. Ongoing individual critiques and periodic group critiques investigate a variety of topics, including the development of space and form; proportion, color and composition; and the expressive rendering of the figure.
